New year, New Safari Trip

Keeping the AUD tradition alive, the Student Government Association in AUD, had yet another successful Safari Trip this year. On the 13th of February, around 260 students enjoyed the true Arabian Nights experience in the desert camp of Hatta.

The experience included everything from Dune bashing, visiting a camel farm and Camel riding ending the night with a Tanoura Dance and a Belly dancer.

The Student’s Government Association’s Public Relations Officer, Hoor Al Shafei, talked to us and told us a bit about the planning:”It took us around 3 to 4 weeks to plan the whole trip, from choosing the place to selling the tickets” she added, “We always choose this camp as it is the preferred one by the tourism company in our university”.

Ola Shehadi, who was one of the students who went on the trip said: “It was my first time in a Safari trip, so I was very excited, and honestly this trip exceeded my expectation and helped me get rid of my fear of safaris. I would do it again!”

Another student named Naz Mousa, said that she enjoyed the trip but did not quite like the food that was served there, “The choices were very limited, and some of the food was undercooked. However the experience in all was very nice”.

On the other hand, another student named, Fatma Abuseif, said that she really enjoyed the trip and that it was very well organized, however, the only thing she did not like was some student’s behavior when the belly dancer came out, as they were screaming and acting in an ill-mannered way.

The Safari trip is one of the SGA’s many yearly events such as the winter ball and the Hawaiian barbecue. Make sure to check their social media accounts for information on their upcoming events.
