The short films shed light on social issues, taboos and extremism in Saudi Arabia, some inspired by real events and others are fiction stories.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the films are released together as part of a TV series, they are each about a different story, with different crews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is how Telfaz11 Studios works,\u201d&nbsp;Mohamed&nbsp;Abou&nbsp;Joda, former producer and production manager at Telfaz11 Studios, the production company behind the series,&nbsp;said in a&nbsp;phone interview.&nbsp;\u201cThere is no sequence of events and the idea behind that is to break the barrier of boredom.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The films may not be free of shortcomings, but they&nbsp;remain original Saudi films that open windows through which one can view some of the social changes happening in Saudi Arabia and the talent that is emerging from the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is true that Saudi Arabia does not have colleges for directing and producing films,\u201d&nbsp;Abou&nbsp;Joda&nbsp;said.&nbsp;\u201cI didn\u2019t study film making but I was schooled in my experience working with&nbsp;Telfaz11 Studios.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The six short films are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wasati&nbsp;(2016):<\/strong>&nbsp; Ali&nbsp;Kalthami, the film director, tells a&nbsp;story inspired by real events about a theater play called&nbsp;\u201cWasati&nbsp;Bela&nbsp;Wasatiya&nbsp;(A Moderate Without Moderation)\u201d&nbsp;that was attacked by a group of extremists. The film&nbsp;won Best Director and Best Foreign Film at the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1022\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-1022x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-1022x1024.png 1022w, https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-800x801.png 800w, https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-768x769.png 768w, https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6-1024x1026.png 1024w, https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-6.png 1184w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1022px) 100vw, 1022px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The films are not free of shortcomings, but they remain original Saudi films that open windows to discuss Saudi Arabia generally and the talent that is emerging from the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The six short films hereunder the production of Telfaz11; a YouTube channel.
