The event was held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, part of Taste of Dubai 2019, last Saturday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each baker was expected to incorporate elements of the show, which surrounds monarchies, war, and dragons, in a&nbsp;manner that told a story. With over two-hundred applicants from around the world, it all came down to twenty-four bakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event began with an introduction of the six judges, all of which are part of the ICCA, including celebrity chef, French p\u00e2tissier Eric Lanlard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Withstanding the test of creativity, six cakes were selected. Photo Hauwa  Buhari-Abdullahi<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The event ended with the announcement of Nayana Pavate as the winner of the 2019 ICCA Bake-Off, with the prize being Dhs17,000 worth of pastry classes at the ICCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning cake titled \u201cThe Win or Die Cake\u201d was made of star anise with spiced chocolate flavors,\u00a0 the cake as adventurous as the show. \u201cI feel great, this is unbelievable,\u201d Pavate said to the MBRSC Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A theme like this has surely left people with big questions in mind: what will next year\u2019s theme be? Will it be as exciting as this? Will it be better than this?
