Brace yourselves…Valentine\u2019s Day is here again!\nValentine\u2019s has been celebrated since 1415 and yet, to this day, most people\ndon\u2019t really know why they partake in this love fest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Valentine\u2019s is associated with love, and overly-priced chocolates. There are many legends surrounding the actual origin of the widely celebrated day, but luckily for you, we\u2019ll give you a crash course in history — for free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most common legend is that Valentine was a Roman priest who lived during the third century. During that time, Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage for young men because he believed men who remained single made better soldiers than those who were committed to a wife and children. But Valentine went against the emperor\u2019s ruling, and used to conduct marriages for young couples in secret. Valentine\u2019s secret was later on exposed, and he was executed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fast-forward to 2019, couples use this day as an excuse to show public display of affection, making us single people absolutely bitter and out of place. But have no fear, your Valentine\u2019s Day survival kit is here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Buy yourself roses and\nchocolates and have them delivered to your doorstep on Valentine\u2019s Day. Fun fact: 14% of American women send themselves flowers on\nValentine\u2019s day. So don\u2019t feel left out.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Collect your tears in a jar, and take a bath in them. Light a few candles, throw some petals around. If you\u2019re feeling great, throw a bath bomb in there and treat yourself because …why not! <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Block all your exes on social media because\nyou don\u2019t need that negativity around you. If you don\u2019t have an ex, date\nsomeone a day before Valentine\u2019s Day so you can block him\/her the next day!\nThis tactic will make you feel that you\u2019ve obviously won the break-up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Call up all your single friends, order a ton of pizza and have a Legally Blonde movie marathon. And if you don\u2019t have any friends, even better, you can devour all that pizza by yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Finally, if you\u2019re feeling alone and sad: cheer up and keep in\nmind that you\u2019re alone the other 364 days of the year too!
