{"id":3160,"date":"2016-11-23T09:47:38","date_gmt":"2016-11-23T05:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/?p=3160"},"modified":"2016-11-23T09:47:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-23T05:47:38","slug":"a-hopeful-tale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbrsc.aud.edu\/MBRSCPost\/a-hopeful-tale\/","title":{"rendered":"A HOPEFUL TALE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Committed to exploring new means of education, 23-year-old, Shammi Kapoor has risen above conventional medication to revolutionize new solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Born in London, Shammi Kapoor was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Depression; nevertheless, the turning point of Kapoor\u2019s life is when he realized his dependency on his medication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c It felt fake at that time, we saw a great improvement in the way I could function, however, I would be sitting in a cold room and constantly sweating for no reason, and that would be the time where I would make the blood pressure monitors break\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added \u201cI was staying with my cousin in London, and one day I woke up and went to work with him but I forgot to take my medication,\u201d Kapoor said, \u201cthat\u2019s when I realized I couldn\u2019t function without it and it was just like the old me, where I couldn\u2019t process anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a result, when Kapoor returned to Dubai, he confronted his doctor and decided to enroll into a brain-training facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had complete faith in brain-training, I wanted to change myself and help others eventually,\u201d said Kapoor, \u201cBut when I told my doctor that he started laughing at me and he told me to be realistic\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The process was the biggest challenge, and Shammi fought through layers of withdrawal symptoms when he left his medication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe withdrawal symptoms were worse than anything you have ever read about,\u201d said Shammi, \u201c The perfect way to describe it would be skitsofrenic, I couldn\u2019t tell the difference between a dream or the reality\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fighting amongst stereotypes and scientific methods, Shammi decided to take a step forward. The obligation to obtain a high school diploma didn\u2019t make any improvement on his health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m fully for education, but I believe there are different forms of obtaining knowledge,\u201d said Shammi, \u201cDon\u2019t just be an A* student with a bad attitude, why to learn things that aren\u2019t relevant in your life?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI joined a few programs and I started to do things I couldn\u2019t before,\u201d said Shammi \u201cI couldn\u2019t even read 2 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The facility\u2019s approach was highly influential on thousands of students, producing far-fetched results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was at my brain-training program, the American government investigated the founder because the results were unbelievable,\u201d said Shammi proudly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter surveying eighteen thousand people and observing control groups, the numbers showed a fifteen percent increase in intelligence quotient levels\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following his tremendous journey, Mr.Kapoor has started his own foundation in June 2016 called \u201cBrain Abilitiez\u201d located in Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai, to help young minds that go through the same process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to help change as many lives as possible, and offer a permanent solution to any problem they might have\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Encouraging others through his journey, Shammi was inspired by our very own Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first book I read was Flashes of Thought by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
