Sheikh Hamdan’s Teams Win Big at the Gov Games

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and his F3 teams won on Saturday in Dubai the second edition of the Government Games.
Both of his female and male teams won 1 million dirhams each.
“Teamwork, training and determination is the best combination for winning. Great performance from both the men’s and women’s teams,” Sheikh Hamdan, also known as Fazza3, wrote on his instagram, celebrating the big win while emphasizing the theme “1 Team 1 Spirit”. His team had won last year the first edition of the competition.
In the men’s competition, Abu Dhabi Police came in second just a few seconds behind F3, follow by Dubai Police at third place. In the women’s segment, DEWA placed at second while Dubai Airports was third. Second place teams received 300,000 dirhams and third place got 200,000 dirhams for each men’s and women’s placements.
All the teams involved in this year’s games went through 9 obstacles to qualify for the final one, the Battleship. The Battleship was much bigger than the other obstacles and required more skill. The F3 men’s team finished in 24 minutes, making them the winners the second year in a row, while the time cap was set at 45 minutes. On the other hand, the F3 women’s team finished in 22 minutes, and they were given an hour.
However, the men’s course was considerably more difficult as they were not given any ladder-assistance or boosters up the curved wall. The Battleship consisted of various sections such as rope climbing, passing through tubes, zip-lining above a body of cold water and finally breaking a cement ball with a hammer to find a key inside it and unlock the final stage: running on sand and in the sea, and army-crawling under wire all while wearing weighed vests then make their way towards the finish line.
Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairwoman of Dubai Culture, and Shaikh Hamdan distributed the prizes. The ceremony ended with a fireworks display.
