Dubai Bride Show: Bringing Wedding Fever Back

Young girls have always been known to fantasize about their wedding, years before their time, and the bride show held in Dubai brought the wedding fever to life. The week-long event was held in the Dubai World Trade Centre from the 6thto the 9thof February 2019. It did not just cater to brides-to-be, but for the little girl inside all the female visitors.

This once in a lifetime experience was held to give all the visitors the fantasy they dreamed of. Visitor Laila Malek said “I think most of the people here aren’t even getting married, but it’s a nice experience. I came to see something new.” A raffle ticket was handed out with each entry ticket purchase; also noted that part of the proceeds is donated to The People of Determination. “It’s nice to be recognized in something unexpected like a bridal show for the disabled people,” Lina Makhlouf, a disabled woman said.

The Bride show allowed designers to showcase their latest designs on the floral runway. It also gave non-bridal designers the chance to sell their garments in the many stands that surrounded the main stage. Upon entry, your eyes glisten to the shimmering diamond accessories, glassed in all the stands. In appreciation of the Gulf woman, many designers displayed their abayas to sell their ‘one of a kind’ designs. The most overcrowded stands were the ones selling wedding dresses. “I loved the fashion shows, particularly the wedding gowns. That was my favorite part yes. And no I was a bride seven years ago” Thuraya Salem, a visitor said.

Kuwaiti influencers like Noha Nabil and Dana Tuwarish were there to share fashion and beauty tips. The popular nail salon Tips and Toes was also hosting talks and presentations on beauty tips for the future brides, on each day of the event.

Exhibitors took the time to give out pamphlets, vouchers, and exclusive offers on their products. As the website stated and delivered, there were items from “bridal, evening wear, cakes, photography, honeymoon, perfumes, jewelry to dental.” “I got free chocolate, free coffee, discounted massage, many vouchers, this event was worth it honestly,” visitor Salma Haider said. “I’m here because I thought it would be fun,” she added. The Bride show was an event for everyone, bride or not. It’s an experience but you haven’t missed a thing because over in Abu Dhabi, they’re hosting the same event from the 26thto the 28thof June.
